Fuse box upgraded to a modern RCBO board
Old rewireable board out, full RCBO protection in, everything labelled and certified.
About this service →Hanham-based NICEIC electrician covering every Bristol postcode. EICRs, rewires, consumer units and fault finding across the city — free site visits, written estimates.
I’m based in Hanham, on Bristol’s eastern edge — so Bristol isn’t an area I travel to, it’s home. Most of my working week is spent inside the BS postcodes, which means no travel premium anywhere in the city, and the minimum-visit price for small jobs is stated in the quote before you book, not sprung on the doorstep.

About this service →
Lighting positions planned with the customer before a single cable went in the trench.

Two C2s found at a landlord inspection; both remedied and a satisfactory report issued five days later.
About this service →Bristol packs more housing variety into one city than the rest of the patch put together. Georgian and Victorian terraces — Clifton, Cotham, Redland, Montpelier and the painted streets of Totterdown and Cliftonwood — where lath-and-plaster ceilings, solid masonry and a century of piecemeal alterations make every EICR a small act of archaeology. Grand townhouses long since carved into flats and HMOs, with communal supplies, shared meter cupboards and earthing arrangements from three different decades under one roof. 1930s semis across Horfield, Knowle and Westbury-on-Trym now reaching the age where original wiring and boards come due together. And the newer stock, from Bradley Stoke to the harbourside, that wants extras rather than rescues: garden offices, downlights, EV chargers.
Two consequences shape the work. Bristol’s enormous rental market — two universities’ worth of student lets and a city full of young professionals — makes landlord EICRs and HMO work a weekly staple rather than an occasional request. And terraced streets with no off-street parking turn a simple EV charger into a proper conversation about cable routes and pavement crossings, which is a conversation worth having before you buy the car.
EICRs for landlords, sellers and remortgages · consumer unit upgrades, the highest-value single improvement most period houses can make · full and partial rewires of Victorian and Edwardian terraces · fault finding, because old Bristol installations fail in interesting ways · garden offices and sheds for the city’s long gardens.
Yes — all the BS postcodes, both sides of the river. Hanham, Kingswood, Fishponds and Easton are the everyday patch; Clifton, Redland, Bedminster and Southville are routine; and the northern fringe from Filton to Bradley Stoke pairs neatly with Yate runs. Distance, where it matters at all, is factored into the quote up front.
Regularly — Bristol’s HMO stock keeps me busy. EICRs for licensed HMOs and standard rentals, PAT testing for furnished lets, and the remedial work that comes out of inspections, all certificated within one working day of payment. Larger properties are quoted per property after a free look round.
Yes, with the honest caveat that works affecting a listed building’s character can need consent — so cable routes and methods get chosen with the paperwork in mind, and consent questions are flagged to you before work, not discovered after. Sympathetic routing usually solves what chasing would have spoiled.

Everything below is available here on the same terms as everywhere else I work: a written price before any work starts, and the person who quotes it does it.

My reviews live on Which? Trusted Traders, where every review is checked to confirm it came from a genuine customer. A few, in their own words:
Tony is reliable, professional, and delivers exactly what he says he will. The only thing that was different between the quote and invoice was the price; he automatically submitted a smaller invoice as I am guessing the job was easier than expected.Customer in South Gloucestershire, via Which? Trusted Traders, August 2026
Tony was really helpful, friendly and a professional service. Explained everything in a way I could understand. Left everything clean and tidy and a fantastic job done, at a great price.Customer in Bath and North East Somerset, via Which? Trusted Traders, July 2026
Tony checked our electrics, which unfortunately turned out to be well past their sell by date, requiring a full rewiring of the house whilst we lived in the house! […] Communication and advice was great, and would recommend him highly.Customer in South Gloucestershire, via Which? Trusted Traders, March 2025
